Infosecurity Russia Program Committee has summed up
the results of 2007
On the 21st of November in Moscow, at Sheraton Palace Hotel with the
participation of the Infosecurity Programme Committee and of the leading
specialists of Russian companies and organizations a round table conference
dedicated to the summary of the exhibition conference Infosecurity Russia,
which took place on 26-27 of September at Expocentr at Krasnaya Presnya,
was held.
Hlamov S. V. head of the Federal Agency for Information Technologies international
cooperation department greeted the participants of the round table conference
on behalf of the Infosecurity Russia 2007 convenor Matyuhin V. G who is
the director of the FAIT.
During the round table conference Osykina L. S, the director of the exhibition,
presented a brief summary of the year 2007 in figures: in comparison to
the year 2006 the number of the exhibitors increased and amounted 77 companies,
the number of the visitors increased as well (approximately 4500 specialists),
and the conference (more than 50 enterprises, more than 2300 visitors)
was a tremendous success.
Osykina L. S. observed among the main achievements the fact that this
year Infosecurity had convoked a more active, professional audience, that
the number of the visitors from the regions of Russia, CIS and the far-abroad
countries had increased, that the Partnership program had been started,
that it had been the first time when a VIP club for the directors of the
information security departments of the Russian companies and organizations
had been organized, that the section "Innovations of the Branch"
had been created. Osykina L. S. said: "Our primary aim is to serve
the interests of all the participants of the market and make our event
more demanded and necessary for everyone".
Summing up the work of the Programme Committee and business programme
Infosecurity Russia 2007, the head of the Programme Committee and the
commercial vice-director of the scientific-engineering enterprise INFORMZASCHITA
Yemelyannikov M. Y. expressed his gratitude to all members of the Programme
Committee for their work and mentioned that "the conference Infosecurity
2007 was a success. One may say without a false modesty that the Infosecurity
conference is the biggest forum where the problems of the information
security are discussed. There is no such place except this one where such
a great number of visitors could be, where such a great number of speeches,
and such a diversity of topics could be seen. Besides, this is the very
that case when the matters of both governmental regulation, and business,
and the technical problems are discussed at the same place".
The specialness of the Infosecurity Russia 2007 conference is implied
by the fact that the programme was based on the security systems users'
opinions.
Gritsienko A. A., the head of the Information Security Service of the
bank Vozrozhdenie said: "I liked Infosecurity Russia 2007 very much.
The were 16 employees of my service: The resulting number of the visitors
proves that we were not mistaken when choosing topics".
In the opinion of Popova Z. V., director of the Training Center INFORMZASCHITA
"The Infosecurity business program is to my point of view is currently
the most interesting among those events, which are organized at the market
of information security. Why is it interesting? - due to the fact that
there is almost no advertisement of the manufacturers and it is very important;
due to the high quality content of the events, due to the active and competent
audience, due to the high level of excellence of the chairmen of the round-table
conferences. After the events the discussion of the brought up topics
continued, the specialists were exchanging contact information. That is
exceptionally important -to know whom to address, with whom one can communicate."
The following drawbacks of the organization of the exhibition conference
were mentioned by the participants of the round table conference: difficulties
of exhibition halls navigation, lack of the clear shelf talkers. In the
opinion of the participants, the activity of the stand-assistants on Russian
exhibitions still falls behind the activity seen at western similar exhibitions.
A. A. Streltsov, the head of the Department of Enhancing Security in the
sphere of information and information technology of the Security Council
of Russian Federation mentioned that "the exhibition lacks advertisement
at the application level, which could show the effects of using this or
that product and what it is produced for. One must help the visitors to
orientate themselves at the exhibition:". Concerning the program
of the conference Streltsov A. A. mentioned that "the humanitarian
component should be more distinctly formulated - the problems of business
security, security of critical objects should be developed. It's important
to use the foreign experience. We still have a lot to learn about!".
Gruzdev S. L., the general director of the Aladdin R. D. mentioned that
"the thing which had been done correctly is the practical trend of
the production according to the possibility of being applied in practice:Specialists
are interested in considering particular problems in practice with the
examples of their consideration, in what their colleagues have done, what
is worth establishing as a standard, whom can be asked:More specialist
taking decisions may take part in the exhibition..".
The recommendations based on the results of the exchange of views between
the participants of the round table conference will be formed for the
Programme Committee of Infosecurity 2008? Which will be held at the period
of 7-9 October 2008 in Moscow at the Central Exhibition Complex Expocentr

PRESS RELEASE
Infosecurity Programme Commitee have held the Round-table meeting
"Cooperation and mutual understanding in the information security
market"
18th, April 2007
The Round-table meeting "Cooperation and mutual understanding in
the information security market" was held on April 18th 2007 in which
Programme Commitee of the exhibition and conference Infosecurity Russia
and leading information security professionals from Russian companies
and organizations took part.
It has become a tradition to organize a meeting of Infosecurity Russia
Programme Commitee with leading information security specialists who represent
Russian companies and organizations before entering an active phase of
making up a business programme of the exhibition and conference Infosecurity
Russia which will take place on the 26th-28th September 2007.
Substantial interest in this event shown by banks, telecommunication companies
and industrial enterprises testifies to the fact that more and more new
problems occur in the quickly developing information security segment,
which requires active discussion and joint search of best solutions to
minimize emerging risks.
The business programme of the exhibition will be concentrated on new and
the most vital issues of the industry.
Participation of representatives of governmental institutions allowed
participants to ask questions about further development of legal regulation
in the industry and latest trends.
According to Anatoly Streltsov (Administration of Security Council of
the Russian Federation):"Technical regulation should do good not
harm".
Special emphasis at the meeting was put on assessment and audit methods
as well as information security issues in the credit and finance institutions.
Valery Kharlamov (Bank of Russia) mentioned: "The fact that there
is no single officially accepted assessment method of whether information
security in credit institutions meets standard requirements has a negative
impact on assessment precision, reduces confidence in the results of work
and leads to contradicting opinions concerning security level in credit
institutions. In this connection, in order to improve the existing standard
"Assessment method of compliance of information security in banking
institutions of the Russian Federation with the standard requirements
STO BR IBBS-1.0" is planned to be introduced.
Participants mentioned that information security is an indispensable component
of business and therefore should be dealt with as a business process.
Moreover, buyers and suppliers of products and services should team up
to solve the problems and carry out projects in this sphere. To achieve
maximum cooperation team members should learn to speak one language –
the language of business.
Mikhail Emeliyannikov who represents NIP "Informzaschita" company
and presides Infosecuity Russia Programme Commitee considers that "overwhelming
wish of buyers of products and services of this market segment to take
part in debates with representatives of government institutions, vendors
and integrators allows us to hope that sections, round-table meetings,
seminars will contribute as to deeper understanding of arousing issues
and the ways to solve them as to developing a better mutual understanding
between buyers and suppliers".
Significant interest shown by participants of the Round-table meeting
in the issues of building up IS, information security in SMB, integration
of IS standards created by Bank of Russia into the credit and finance
sphere, interrelation between buyers and suppliers of services, training
of interns in the conditions of their serious shortage and other issues
raised during the meeting will form the basis for Infosecurity business
programme.

goals and objectives of the forthcoming conference, activity of the Programme
Committee in preparation of the business programme.
Participants of the meeting have also touched upon issues which are of
great interest not only to the most part of industry experts but also
to owners of business corporations. Considerable attention was paid to
the necessity to study the international experience in solving information
security issues (it is important to note that efficient information security
is only possible when there is a consolidation of professionals on the
international level.
Those present at the meeting have pointed out that today's information
security solutions market has faced a number of problems connected with
the current legal framework as well as with the necessity of integration
of Russian and foreign legal frameworks for application of information
security systems (ISS). Such issues as certification and licensing are
still quite relevant.
The issue of training and certification of IS experts was considered one
of the most acute problems. The certificate does not give a complete idea
of expert's knowledge as it is. Moreover, no method of information classification
has been worked out yet and there are few printed publications, which
makes it difficult for the head of the enterprise to decide what information
should be protected.
Other interesting topics for the conference were such issues as service
in the domain of information security, integrated solutions, business
security continuity, problems of ISS audit and IS outsourcing. Forecast
of new information security risks as well as such specific topics as Internet
banking and introduction of bank IS standards are likely to arouse great
interest.
Round table meeting participants have offered to separate the groups of
conference participants considering that IT experts and information security
managers deal with rather different problems.
Summing up the results of the round-table meeting, members of the Infosecurity
Conference Programme Committee have discussed topics and problems suggested
by the participants and have singled out the most interesting and topical
ones in order to include them into the programme of the oncoming Forum.
As the result of the discussion it was agreed that unlike all IS exhibitions
and conferences which are held regularly, Infosecurity Exhibition is more
aimed at solution of problems in Russian business.

New
venue – new possibilities of exhibitions
Infosecurity, Storage Expo, LinuxWorld 2006
Next year exhibition-conferences Infosecurity, Storage
Expo and LinuxWorld will be held on the new venue – in the Expocentr
Fairgrounds on Krasnaya Presnya in the most perspective business center
of Moscow. The exhibition time is traditional – September, 4-6.
Change of the venue is caused by the fact that venue
can no longer meet the demands of exhibitions: demand for comfortable
conference halls and negotiation rooms, need to make the LinuxWorld an
independent exhibition in a separate hall to make the event more focused
as well as demand for improvement of service, better parking places and
the approach road, greater opportunities for exhibitor advertising.
"We are satisfied with the results of Infosecurity,
Storage Expo and LinuxWorld 2005 – we have made a considerable leap
in development of the projects by increasing the total number of floor
space and exhibitors by more than two times, we considerably improved
and broadened the conference programme and maintained visitor quality
of the last year while increasing the attendance level by two times. As
a result, over 80% of exhibitors have already confirmed their participation
in the exhibitions next year", said Ludmilla Bogdanova, director
of the exhibitions.
"Next year we are planning to make the events even
more intensive and interesting by expanding the exposition, inviting interesting
speakers and organizing topical discussions of the most acute issues of
the industry. According to the results of this year, we can count on increase
in the number of visitors next year by 30–40%. We have also decided
to make LinuxWorld an independent exhibition, which will be held in a
separate hall with separate registration. Thus we will be able to keep
out events focused and provide more comfortable conditions for business
communication at the exhibitions".
"Unfortunately, it would be quite difficult to develop
our projects on the former venue in Gostiny Dvor. That is why we started
looking for a possibility to change the exhibition venue. Advantages of
Expocentr on Krasnaya Presnya are evident – the venue not only meets
all our requirements but also is a well known exhibition complex".
Infosecurity and Storage Expo will occupy halls 4,5,6
in the pavilion 7. The total area of these exhibitions will make
7115 sqm. LinuxWorld will be held in the hall 3 of the pavilion 7
and will occupy approximately 1800 sqm.
Dmitry Retyunsky, the head of data storage systems department
of HP in CIS countries said: "Expocentr is without doubt more modern
and professional venue for such focused events as Infosecurity. We are
confident that moving the exhibitions to Expocentr will positively influence
the quality of the exhibition".
Five pros in favour of Expocentr:
- equipped conference halls and negotiation rooms
- convenient approach roads and parking
- more advertising space – more possibilities for promotion
- easy to find – convenient parking places parking + subway station
"Business center"
- LinuxWorld holds separately from Infosecurity and Storage Expo
